Matthew is an experienced FinTech investment banker and investor having advised numerous public and private companies over more than 25 years on a wide range of strategic, M&A and capital raising transactions representing more than $60 billion in transaction value.
He founded Newbold Partners in 2020 as an independent investment advisory firm specializing on the FinTech sector, dedicated to providing thoughtful and customized solutions to meet clients’ unique strategic needs and achieve superior and value maximizing outcomes for them.
Matthew has worked directly in the FinTech industry at Fiserv where he was responsible for strategic partnerships and, among other things, oversaw the company’s $4.4bn acquisition of CheckFree.
Prior to founding Newbold, Matthew oversaw the FinTech practice at Sagent Advisors (acquired by Daiwa Capital Markets), Merrill Lynch and UBS. He started his investment banking career at Lehman Brothers (may they rest in peace), and prior to that was an attorney at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
Matthew received his J.D., Magna cum laude, from Northwestern School of Law and his BA from Columbia.

Rishi is active FinTech related investor, advisor and board member. In 2020 he founded the FinTech consulting firm Operating Partners Collective (OPCO). Until 2019 he was the Global Head of Buy-Side Trading at Refinitiv. He joined Refinitiv through its Jan. 2017 acquisition of REDI Technologies, where he served as CEO & Founder, and oversaw the spin-out of REDI from Goldman Sachs and the creation of a consortium of industry shareholders to support the business’ growth.
Rishi is proud to have been part of one of the best operating teams that pioneered a leading electronic securities trading franchise. He has been recognized through various industry awards including Fintech 40 (multiple times) and Best Electronic Trading Team. His real joy comes from helping teams push themselves to achieve new milestones and make an impact that was hard to plan when they started.
Rishi is active in the start-up community investing, mentoring, advising and often incubating new businesses. Rishi earned an M.B.A in Finance & Entrepreneurship from Columbia Business School and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, although he firmly believes (as he was taught by his mentors) that real education happens through personal initiative and a constant drive towards self-improvement and growth.

Stephen primarily focuses on M&A and private placements within the financial technology sector. Previously, Stephen was an analyst at H.C. Wainwright within their ECM group where he focused on private placements. Prior to that he was an analyst at UBS within their Wealth Management division where he focused on data analytics and reporting.
